A Snapshot of Who I Am

Hello! I am an aspiring municipal/transportation planner and I reside in the
Minneapolis-St. Paul (MN) metropolitan area. My journey here has crossed all corners
of the country, being a member of an Army family; I even lived in Scotland! These
global experiences led me to explore and understand the world around me,
which evolved into a B.S. degree in GEOGRAPHY with a minor in GEOGRAPHIC
INFORMATION SYSTEMS(GIS)/CARTOGRAPHY.

I realized that I needed to apply my technical skills to help solve issues affecting the
quality of life in cities, so I completed a MASTER of URBAN PLANNING degree
with an emphasis in TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS AND POLICIES. I am
passionate about transportation equity, multi-modal transportation and land use
development. My many projects, internships and job opportunities have allowed me to
apply my STRONG GIS, MAPPING DESIGN, ANALYTICAL AND
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
to propose EFFECTIVE SOLUTIONS to a myriad
of urban problems.

In addition to having THREE PUBLISHED MAPS, I have received a number of
academic honors and service awards, highlighted by the Chancellor's Award from the
University of Wisconsin-River Falls, which acknowledged my LEADERSHIP skills and contributions to the university and
community.

One thing I gleaned from the many projects I completed over the years centers on the phrase, "short-term pain, for long-term gain" which has its application not only to the entire planning realm, but also to politics, the economy and everyday life decisions. Planning decisions may cause disruption and change, but its goal is to improve the quality of life. I have the conviction and courage to EFFECT CHANGE so the community benefits over time.

My online portfolio highlights many of my SKILLS and passionate interests that exemplify WHAT I CAN DO FOR YOU!
